Co-Pierre Georg
Collaborating Research Scholar, Networks Cluster

Co-Pierre Georg is a Research Economist at Deutsche Bundesbank and Associate Fellow of the CABDyN Complexity Center. He is also a Collaborating Research Scholar at the Networks Cluster of Keble College. He received his Diploma in Physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and his PhD in Economics at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. Before moving to Deutsche Bundesbank, Co-Pierre was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Group of Interdisciplinary Complex Systems Research at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He held various visiting positions at the New York University Stern School of Business, Banque de France, South African Reserve Bank, and Deutsche Bundesbank and was awarded the Lamfalussy Fellowship of the European Central Bank for his work on the dynamics of interbank markets.Since June 2013 Co-Pierre is an Old Mutual Emerging Markets Lecturer at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business

His research focusses on computational economics and microeconomic theory. Co-Pierre has worked extensively on financial multi-agent simulations and systemic risk in interbank networks. His work evolves around incorporating ideas from network theory, complex systems analysis, and biology into economic models of the financial system.
