Dr. Alexandra Brintrup Lecturer in Manufacturing Informatics
Manufacturing Department
University of Cranfield

Dr. Alexandra Brintrup is a Lecturer in Manufacturing Informatics at the Cranfield Manufacturing Department. She directs the MSc course in Global Product Development and Management, where she also teaches Decision Engineering and Supply Chain Management. She is a fellow of the Green Templeton College at Oxford, and works as a visiting lecturer at Jacobs University, where she teaches Operations Management and Advanced Modelling and Simulation

After reading Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Dr. Brintrup completed her MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science at Cranfield University. She then worked as a research associate at the Distributed Information and Automation Laboratory, University of Cambridge. Her research interests lie in the design of computational intelligence applied to operations research problems. Some of her most published work includes the use of interactive multi-objective genetic algorithms in optimisation, multi-agent based supply network management, and the development of smart embedded systems for lean manufacturing and product lifecycle management. Alexandra was appointed as fellow at the CABDyN research centre at the University of Oxford, where she studied complex supply and critical infrastructure networks.

At present she is carrying out research the evolution of complex adaptive systems, and decision making methods in multi-agent systems.
