Silicon Valley Comes to Oxford - Networks Masterclass

Leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and commentators from Silicon Valley gathered at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School on 23rd November 2008 for the annual Silicon Valley Comes to Oxford meeting. Now in its eighth year, this event has established itself as one of the leading European forums for debate and networking in innovation.

As in previous years, Silicon Valley Comes to Oxford comprised of a vibrant and fast-paced mix of masterclasses, panel debates focusing on the big issues in Silicon Valley, innovation workshops where specific ideas could be developed, and one-to-one clinics for aspiring entrepreneurs.

This year CABDyN’s Felix Reed-Tsochas and Mark Fricker were joined by Stephen Roberts and Victoria Nash to give a Masterclass for Silicon Valley Guests on the subject of “Networks”. The panel discussed naturally-occurring networks (Mark Fricker, Department of Plant Sciencies), networks of causality (Stephen Roberts, Department of Engineering), social, online and innovation networks (Felix Reed-Tsochas, Saïd Business School) and community networks for civic and political engagements (Victoria Nash, Oxford Internet Institute).
